Ballantine Solar Farm

Project status

With Development Approval received in August 2025, Elgin is looking to progress a collocated renewable energy scheme at a site on Bengworden Road in Bairnsdale, Victoria. The scheme will supply 85 MW of renewable solar energy and will include a 70 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) with four-hour duration.

This website has been created to provide information to the wider community. Elgin Energy is also in the process of preparing a program that aims to contribute value to the local area in Bairnsdale. As part of this, Elgin Energy is committed to keeping the community informed at each stage of the project from planning through to construction.
